An Indian Army officer and 19 soldiers were killed in a skirmish between India and the Chinese Army between June 15 and 16 in the Galvan Valley in eastern Ladakh.
After 45 years on the border of India and China, the army of a country has lost its life. One of the Indian soldiers who died was a colonel and he was from Surya Pet district of Telangana. Colonel Santosh Babu was posted on the Sima of the Chinese for the last year and a half. He was part of the 16 Bihar Regiment. Apart from the Colonel, the soldiers who have been martyred in this struggle are Naib Subedar N Soren of Mayuravans, Naib Subedar Madip Singh of Patiala, Naib Subedar Satnam Singh of Gurdaspur, Havildar Plane of Madurai, Havildar Sunil Kumar of Patna, Havildar Bipul of Meerut Roy, Reva’s Deepak Kumar, Birbhum’s soldier Rajesh Orang, Shagibganj’s Kundan Kumar Ojha, Kanker’s soldier Ganesh Ram, Candamal’s constable Chandrakant Pradhan, Hamir Pur’s sepoy Ankush, Sangrur’s sepoy Gurbinder, Manasha’s sepoy Gurtesh Singh, Chandan Kumar, constable Kundan Kumar of Saharsa, Aman Kumar, a soldier from Samastipur, Jai Kishore Singh, a constable from Vaishali, and Ganesh Hasada, a constable from East Singhbhum.
The Indian Army had informed Sombra about the martyrdom of 3 soldiers. Which included a colonel and two jawans. After this news came in the night that 17 more soldiers have been martyred. Those who were seriously injured earlier.
