Sri Lanka will investigate whether World Cup 2011 final was fixed

You will remember the World Cup of 2011, in which Dhoni won the World Cup by hitting six. Yuvraj Singh will also remember to run away and hug him, and after winning the match, he was the one who picked up Sachin Tendulkar on the shoulder and circled all over the stadium.

But this match has also been in some controversy. Sri Lankan great batsman Arvind DeSilva has said that his claim to the former Sports Minister of his country that the 2011 World Cup was completely fixed is a sheer lie. However, he also said that the International Cricket Council, BCCI and Sri Lanka Cricket Board must jointly conduct this inquiry. Silva told Akhwar Sunday Time that now we do not want to keep this lie further. May I request all three cricket boards to investigate it immediately.

Arvind DeSilva says that great batsmen like Sachin Tendulkar deserve this honor. And so it becomes the responsibility of Buxi and the Government of India to get the matter investigated properly. He said that the way we celebrate Jashn after the World Cup, in the same way, players like Sachin Tendulkar will remember these moments throughout their lives. I think it is important for Sachin and millions of cricket fans of India that the Government of India and the Cricket Board should conduct a fair inquiry to decide whether the match was fixed or not.

He says that when such allegations are made, then it affects the people more. And in this case, it not only falls on us Valki selectors, players, and team magenta but also on the players who won this World Cup title. We should clear everything so that there is no stain on the game which will be good for him.

Sri Lankan Sports Minister said in an interview that the World Cup India won in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium in India was a match-fix. He claimed in a conversation with the Sri Lankan outlet News First that the 2011 Cricket World Cup was fixed and I will stick to what I am saying. This happened when I was the Minister of Sports. However, he refused to give any information about it. Just said that we could win the matches that they lost and this match was fixed. Halud Gamage had also said that I am saying this responsibly and am ready to come forward for a debate on this. People are very concerned about this and I will not include cricketers in this matter. However, there are some groups that have been involved in fixing the game. Meanwhile, the Sri Lankan Sports Ministry has started investigating the matter related to match-fixing in the 2011 World Cup final. The Ministry’s Special Investigation Unit is looking into the matter. It is to be seen what BCCI does in this case and what comes out.
